Django Rater is a soilder for hire and is a possible protagonist of every series after Metal Sliver. Unlike natural members Django is always an optional character until he final joins Lance in the second arc of Grand Harmony. He will join a party after one of two conditions is met. He can either be paid by the party (A large fee too) but he will leave after he is K.O.'d or after so much time passes. Alternatively he can also be unlocked by finishing a side-story arc about him. Thus he will join for keeps.

In battle he can use any weapon that isn't character specific (IE: Cobalt Saber, Gram, Mollingr) giving him a large range of equipment options. On the downside he never acquires a special weapon. He is also an Lunar-Electric elemental and can use both powerful healing and attacking spells.
